GOODBYE LUDHIANA

Today is my last day in this very contaminated city. Not much more to say , except that I will be glad to leave it and move on to fresher ( much fresher) pastures. Tonight, at 11.53 my night train leaves for Jaipur( 2nd class, air conditioned), the capital of Rajhastan, arriving at 09.55 with someone picking me up from the rail station to my hotel, the Anuraag villas. A city with a lot more colour and opportunities for marvellous Nikons and stories.
On a somewhat sadder note, today, which is international AIDS day, is that the Indian government, in march, will be removing aid to 64000 children infected with the HIV virus. The reason for this, according to the government is that it has no funds left. This is curious because yesterday, while Tipu bought me my bedtea, the Indian government announced that it was to spend $18 billion on the purchase of six nuclear power plants from France. Cool huh ?

Hoy es mi ultimo dia en esta muy contaminada ciudad. No hay mucho mas que contar excepto que me alegrare de marcharme a paramos frescos( y espero mas limpios). Esta noche, mi tren marcha(con litera, 2 clase aire acondicionado) a las 11.53 hacia Jaipur, la capital de Rajhastan, llegando a las 09.55 con alguien que me recoje de la estacion para llevarme a mi hotel, las villas Anuraag. Una ciudad con mucho mas color y opotunidades para Nikons y historias estupendas.
En una nota algo mas triste, hoy, que es el dia internacional del SIDA, es que en marzo, el gobierno Indio va a retirar la ayuda a 64000 crios infectados con el virus. La razon por esto, segun el gobierno, es que no quedan fondos. Esto es curioso, porque ayer mientras que Tipu me traia el chai de manana, el gobierno anuncio que iba a gastar unos $18 billones en la compra de seis reactores nucleares a Francia. Que chulo, no?
